My friend was telling me about how she had moved her furniture in her bedroom and now her bed was in a different place and it just wasn't feeling quite right. She was even having trouble sleeping. "I think I knocked the Feng Shui out of whack." "Really?" "Yeah, your bed is supposed to face east/west or some variation thereof and now mine is facing north/south or some variation thereof." "No, I meant, you really know about the Feng Shui of your room. Because I am truly clueless about mine." I'm sure this explains a lot, I'm not sure what...but probably something.
The discussion did, however, bring to mind the one and only time my husband decided to give Feng shui a try. Apparently, you are not supposed to have a bathroom door open into your bedroom. It means that you are willing to flush your wealth, or something. I don't remember exactly, but I know it was bad and it had to do with flushing. Therefore, he decided that while we were in our room the bathroom door should remain closed, especially while we were sleeping. Well the first night, true to form, I awakened during the night and needed to use the restroom. So, I made my way from the bed to the bathroom and KABLAM! walked straight into the door.
My Husband: "Whaaaa the he@@?" (very loudly I might add)
Me: Through gritted teeth, "I. just. ran. into. the. door."
My Husband: "Did anyone see you?" (said in a panicky voice)
Me: "Let's see, it is the middle of the night, in the pitch black in our bedroom, I'm going with NO!"
And that ,my friends ,as they say is, "all she wrote" on our foray into Feng Shui.
