I was very profoundly saddened yesterday when I learned of Heath Ledger's untimely passing. No, it is not because I have a school girl crush on him, I truly don't. It is more that is just seems like such an incredible waste. It was probably all the more poignant for me because "A Knight's Tale" has been one of our family's favorite movies for many years. My son was obsessed with knights and jousting as a little guy and we all enjoyed the movie tremendously together. My daughter called it the "we, we" movie when she was about three because of the song "We Will, We Will Rock You" that starts the movie. He was a talented man, the father of a cutie patootie of a little girl that looks just like him(albeit out of wedlock, but that is another post), and
he was only 28 years old. I am sad that a little girl is going to grow up without her daddy, I am sad that someone that has brought joy to many people is gone, and I'm sad at this stunning example of a life burned too brightly. It seems it is time for Hollywood (yes, I know he lived in New York. I am speaking of "Hollywood" as a culture not a place) to take a good long look at itself before too many more stars burn so brightly they fade to black completely.
Amen.

I thought the same thing. I couldn't believe it when I saw it on TV. Britney? Yeah, I'd buy that. Heath Ledger? I was surprised and completely saddened for the exact reasons you were.

Agreed. What a waste.
I also think Britney the train wreck won't be far behind and wouldn't be surprised at all if Lindsay fell off her sober wagon before the year is over.
They have so much...and are so flippin' stupid!

Just goes to show ya that even money doesn't keep us safe from an untimely death. RIP Heath.
