Well it's over, done, finito bandito. Our costume winning streak has come to an end. That's the bad news. The good news is, it was still a total blast of a party. As always, everyone went all out on their costumes, but in the end it was Anna Nicole Smith and J. Howard Marshall that took home the win for "Best Overall". Who could compete with anatomically correct old man boxer shorts and enhanced front and back on Anna, complete with leopard thong?! They were hilarious. Their prize is the coveted gourd witch. It only resides with you while you are reigning champ, then it moves on to the next winner.
More good news is that two ideas that I had and decided against made an appearance, Marilyn Monroe and Joe DiMaggio and a geisha and samurai. They too looked phenomenal, but I must say I am glad I decided against those ideas as it would have really been a bummer if I had gone home without winning AND been wearing the same thing as someone else. Rounding out the winners; a sexy nurse won for "sexiest", Santa and his elf won for "Best Couple" (totally authentic suit for him, and flashing lights on hers), the Queen Bee and her worker won for "Funniest", and the pregnant nun (complete with her own real baby bump) won for "Scariest". so, what were we after all?
Only I don't have black hair and I opted for black leggings instead of fishnets, but you get the gist. I also added poker chips to the scepter and to my earrings, and my nails were painted like cards.
Together we were "Texas Hold 'Em". I still love it even if we didn't win! Too much fun, and as usual I woke up with sore feet from all the dancing. Fear not, I am already at work thinking about next year. I will win that gourd witch back, my windowsill misses her. Anna Nicole and J. Howard consider yourself warned!
