Happy Weekend, and while it is only 19 degrees (that's all I'm saying about the temp  I promised) at the moment the sun is shining, shining, shining which is a very good thing!

Last night my sister and I were sitting in the den and I said to her, "I never want to live in a vegetative state, dependent on some machine and fluids from a bottle to keep me alive. That would be no quality of life at all, If that ever happens, just pull the plug."

So she got up, unplugged the computer, and threw out my wine.

It is time to reveal the name of my lucky winner..... Linda "Ernest's Girl".  Congratulations Linda I hope you will enjoy your "Tray and Tid Bits"!  How did I determine this?  I put the numbers 1-242 (number of comments I received) and had my son pick a random number.  The number was 137 and low and behold Linda was comment number 137!

Just a Reminder

While I have you here, may I just say "global warming, shmobal mawrming".  We have had 80 hundred million days in a row of "dangerously low" wind chill factors and actual temperatures.  It was -8 on my car thermometer the other day when I was driving the kids to school.  Today I didn't drive the kids to school because it is a snow day.  You see, along with the extreme cold, we have also had approximately one billion inches of snow this winter.  Last night brought us about 10 inches of the white stuff.  Apparently all the driving to and fro school, kid's activities, the office, and the hundreds of errands I do regularly in my big SUV is not leaving a big enough carbon footprint, because this winter is just plain brutal!

Now please my green friends, don't get your panties in a bunch.  I am totally in favor of protecting the environment.  I dutifully fill up my recycling bin (which is actually an extremely large trash can) every week, I throw my water bottles in the recycling container at the gym, and, get this, I have even been known to pick stuff of out the garbage can and put it in the recycling bin where it belonged.  (My husband is not the greenest guy that ever lived, but I still love him anyway)  I'm just saying that a little "global warming" sent our way would be welcome at the moment.  Bring on Spring!

The Southern Living at Home hand painted "Tray and Tidbits".  A collection of 3 small ruffled bowls on a tray, all hand painted by pottery artist Gail Pittman.  The set comes in two colors, so you may choose which color scheme will best suit your home if you are the lucky winner.  The yellow color scheme is called "Sienna" and the green color scheme is called "Provence", because just calling them yellow and green would be boring of course!
