Today's Wisdom

 

Today's wisdom comes to me from my 6 year old daughter and my husband.  I am not sure exactly how the conversation started, but something to do with a love story of some sort...probably princess related.

My husband to my daughter:  "Sweetie, just make sure that whoever you choose to have in your life is always kind and good to you and makes you feel good about yourself."

Me:  "And that he always makes you feel like a princess."

My daughter:  "Well, that would be daddy."

...and isn't that the way all little girls should feel about their daddy?!

Wishing you and yours a very happy Valentine's Day  filled with love, laughter, and someone who makes you feel like a princess or a prince.

Today's Wisdom

 

Today's wisdom comes to me from the 6 year old son of my very good friend and neighbor.  The other day he and his brother had dinner at our house, and he said this:

"My mom is so organized, if she were looking for that* it would only take her like a month to find it."

*"That" is my beloved iPod that my hubby has misplaced.  All prayers for speed in finding it are appreciated.

Today's Wisdom

   My daughter, son and I were having a conversation that was getting slightly contentious.

I said:  "Hey, guys we're all in the same boat."

To which my daughter replied:  "Get a different boat."

Today's Wisdom

Today's wisdom comes to me from my 9 year old son.

Me: How do I open my computer again?

My son: Did you just ask me, your nine year old son, how to open your computer?

Me: Yes, I did.

Why do I have the feeling this will not be the last time I need technical assistance from him?

Today's Wisdom

Today's Wisdom comes to me from my husband.

"That lightbulb over the kitchen island just burned out, I expect it to be changed by the time I get home tomorrow woman." **

To which I gave:  A look to imply that I was not particularly happy with this statement.

To which he replied:  "I know... it just felt good to say that."

To which I replied: "Nice."

** This sooo did not happen.  We high maintenance girls have a rep. to protect!

Today's Wisdom

Today's wisdom comes to me from my husband and my almost 5 year old daughter.

My husband says to my daughter, "You're cute."

To which my daughter replies, "I'm a woman, heellllooooo."

To which I think, "We're toast."

Today's Wisdom

Today's wisdom comes to me from my husband.  (Yes, I know he is a wealth of knowledge, at least on the last few "Today's Wisdoms" anyway).

He said, "There is a cocktail beyond which you should not play guitar."

To which I replied, "You are ssoooo right."  words not often spoken in our home from my lips.  But when he's right, he's right.  I am nothing if not fair and balanced.

Today's Wisdom

Today's Wisdom comes to me from my husband...

It started with me being unsure of how I looked in a particular garment (a bathing suit).

"I think you look phenomenal, but ask your Mom what she thinks."

To which I replied, "I always do."

To which he replied, "but if she doesn't agree with me, don't listen to her."

A nice sentiment but let's face it, whether we want to or not we ALWAYS listen to what our Mother's say.

Today's wisdom comes to me from my husband.

"Men say a lot of dumb things."

To which I replied, "yes, they do."

Today's Wisdom

Today's wisdom comes from my 4.5 year old daughter.

"Girls need a ton of Shoes."

To which I replied, "yes they do."
